X-mas with my grandfather

Hello, I am Iwao.

This was my very first x-mas and we celebrated it at home. When we went out my mother first dressed me up as santa claus . I don't know who that is, but I think he looks very nice.

At night however we had a very nice dinner and everybody was dressed up very nicely. What do you think of my bow tie?

Very special this x-mas however was that I saw my grand father for the very first time. He came all the way from Japan to see me. And I noticed he looked very different than the white thing my mother calls an Iphone :-).

I went out for the first time.

I have no idea where we went because I was sleeping all the time;-P

I believe that my parents shopped something for me!

The meaning of my name

Hello! I am Iwao.

Iwao is a Japanese name and it means `mighty rock`.
Although my mother is Japanese, my name was chosen by my Dutch father. And my second name, Maurits, was chosen by my mother. Isn't that funny?

My father chose Iwao simply because it is a beautiful name. So any resemblance with the names Peter / Petrus / Rocky or other names which also have a similar meaning is purely coincidental. :-)

My name in Japanese Calligraphy

Hello I am Iwao!

As per good Japanese tradition my father created my name in Japanese Calligraphy for Oshichi-ya. Oshichi-ya is the 7th day anniversary. And he only had 1 lesson in  Japanese Calligraphy from my mama. Pretty amazing huh!

I am finally at home

Hello! I am Iwao.

I was finally able to go home on 10 November. Because mama had still a high fever more than a week, mama, papa (or grandma) and I stayed at hospital...

Hello, I am Iwao.

I was finally born at 12:47 on 29 October!

I am huge. My weight is 4190g and my height is 52cm!!

After 12 hours contraction, I still could not get out from mama's belly. Then finally I was born by c-section.

Because mama had a high fever during labor, mama and I had to keep taking an antibiotic by infusion even after the delivery. You can find it on the right hand.

As you see, my first baby romper is already too small:-)
